Laurie Cunnington, President of Ward Williston Oil Company has been invited to join The Committee of 200. This dynamic group of business women encompasses business owners and corporate leaders from all industries.
The mission of The C200 is to exemplify and promote entrepreneurship and corporate leadership among women of this generation and the next. C200 is committed to fostering and increasing opportunities for women entrepreneurs and corporate leaders. C200 programs target the next generation of women business leaders, including young women and female students in leading business schools. The programs focus on outreach, education, research and mentoring, and they include conferences, scholarships, business forums, seminars and formal mentoring initiatives. C200 membership requires that women either be entrepreneurs with annual revenues of over $15 million or run companies or a division with at least $250 million in annual revenues. Ms. Cunnington holds board positions with Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government, Woman’s Leadership Board, The Global Foundation, Opportunities International, and Joint Aid Management. She is a member of Petroleum Council in North Dakota and the Independent Petroleum Association of America.
Her philanthropic work includes assisting in establishing orphanages, school programs, mentoring programs, microfinance and feeding programs in developing countries. She is currently working with groups in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Peru, Rwanda, Mozambique Sudan, South Africa and Uganda.
Ms. Cunnington was honored in 2006 with the Ernst & Young Entrepreneurial of the Year Award for the Central Great Lakes Region.
